Israel Finkelstein at Megiddo

The archaeological site of Tel Megiddo, overlooking the Jezreel Valley, is one of the most famous archaeological sites in Israel. It’s already a benchmark site, due to the work that has been done by several excavators, beginning more than 100 years ago. But now the current excavator, Israel Finkelstein, has a proposal that may make Megiddo even more important.

Finkelstein is proposing that four different investigative scientific processes be used in hopes that they will complement each other and offer more precise dating on the remains at Megiddo. Our source for this week’s program was this article by Matthew Kalman.
