#1290 Jordan River, Shabbat Stone, and Acre

Jordan River Baptism Site

Jordan River Baptism Site

Recent news articles cover the opening of a Jordan River Baptism site at Qasr Al-Yahud, near Jericho, on the west bank; the discovery of a Shabbat boundary stone at a town near Nazareth, and two stories from Acre: new access to Crusader underground ruins, and the discovery of a Byzantine Church during construction of a parking garage for a shopping mall.

In this photo by Ferrell Jenkins you can see how close the two Jordan River baptismal sites are located, one on the Jordan site, and one on the Israeli (west bank) side.
