A growing number of sites along the ancient border between Judah and Philistia are in the process of being excavated. One of the newest excavations is at Khirbet Summeily, which started last summer. It’s a very small site. However, it’s connected to one of the oldest excavation sites in Biblical Archaeology, Tel el Hesi, which was first excavated more than 120 years ago.
